Militancy: Ijaw monarchs, leaders meet in Warri

 

Prominent Ijaw leaders, including traditional rulers, are presently meeting at the Warri residence of Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark to discuss renewed militancy in the Niger Delta region.

Ijaw leaders from Bayelsa, Edo, Rivers, Ondo, Delta and Cross River States are taking part in the emergency meeting.

The governor of Bayelsa State, Mr Henry Seriake Dickson and the deputy governor of Delta state were still being expected at the meeting.

Source told our correspondent that the meeting would discussed present happenings in the region and states of affairs in the country.

Chief Clark, who is the convener of the emergency meeting, will also chair the event.
